Textron is growing and we are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer to our team. This is an interesting opportunity where you are offered a broad role with varied tasks within the mechanical field. We develop, produce and supply Safeaero de-icing vehicles to customers all over the world, who are mostly airline companies and airports, at our site in Trelleborg. Join us on our journey!
YOU WILL
As a Mechanical Engineer you will be an important part of our engineering team, with responsibility for supporting and developing the entire Safeaero product line and focusing on low volume bespoke off high-way vehicles. We are a small team of multi-disciplined engineers, supporting the current production, as well as different projects and new product development. You will collaborate with your colleagues in production, testing, sales, after sales and engineering at sites in other countries as well.
Examples of responsibilities and tasks are:
- to engage with production within e.g. hydraulic system/fluid/cooling system/pneumatics system/braking
- production support, e.g. shop floor troubleshooting as-needed, technical assistance with prototype build-ups and documentation, perform vehicle performance calculation
- modification engineering and new design
- technical assistance with sales inquiries and aftermarket support issues and communication with suppliers
- project management
YOU ARE
We expect you to be a dedicated team player who is curious and able to learn quickly with a can-do attitude. You should be quality focused, reliable, accountable and able to deliver on time. You need to be agile and encourage new ways of looking at challenges, processes and solutions. You should also have good social skills and excellent communication skills in order to summarize, clarify and visualize information. You should be helpful and enjoy problem-solving.
Preferably, you will have an academic degree in mechanical engineering or similar, and several years of experience within the field. You like working with varied tasks, from hands-on to administrative, and with a complex product. It is an advantage if you have experience with mobile equipment design as well as hydraulic, pneumatic or fluid system development. You should be experienced in Siemens NX or similar tool. Excellent communication skills in English is needed, both verbal and written, and preferably also in Swedish.
